I’ve shown this to my Electronics class before introducing students to housewiring techniques. It’s a good intro, but not hold you on the edge of your seat exciting. The characters are good at what they do. I’d recommend this video to Vocational / Technology / Industrial Arts Teachers and to those attempting to tackle a home wiring project.

Like the entire Hometime series, you will get a complete description and total view of the techniques you need to do the job like a pro. From choosing the right tools, selecting the most cost effective materials, how to avoid expensive mistakes, and get your project done on time. It’s reasonably entertaining – while demonstrating the details of the craft.

A nice touch is the handy on-screen index you can use to quickly locate the information you need. The steps illustrated are:

5. Installing appliances

At first sight the kit looked good, until you opened it, the parts provided were okay however the razor thin packaging which was expected to hold the heat shrink pieces was pathetic. It practically fell apart in my hands. I expected better from Ancor.

I purchased this book to get ready for the nec test, after doing a practice test in the book I wanted to check my answers- could not find it anywhere within the book.

I called DELMAR the publisher and they informed me only the instructors copy has answers to check your work, this instructors copy is about 300 dollars and is not for sale to the public!!!!!!

This book provides a good, up to date overview of automotive electrical systems, from a technician’s perspective. It includes some background information about basic electricity and electronics, and there is also some information about test equipment and troubleshooting procedures. Each of the electrical systems that are typically found in today’s cars is described in some detail. It seems to be intended as a text for use in an automotive technology training program, but it would be useful to any technician or automotive hobbyist.
